I absolutely loved this book and cannot wait to read the next one.

This is a dystopian story about a young girl named Penryn and her journey to get her little sister, Paige, back from the angels which have taken over the world. Penryn, Paige, and their mother (who has a mental disorder) are just trying to survive and avoid the angels, when one day a group of angels lands in the road right in front of them.

One angel, Raffe, is fighting with a group of angels and eventually has his wings cut off as a result. Penryn attempts to help Raffe fight the angel that cut off his wings, but in doing so only angers that angel into kidnapping her younger sister Paige. Paige is wheelchair bound due to an incident with their mother that landed Paige with paralyzed legs.

Penryn realizes that if she abandons Raffe in the street he will be killed and essentially chopped into parts that the survivors will sell to get food. She wraps up his wings and puts him in her sisters wheelchair and they begin their journey to find Paige.

This story was absolutely fantastic. I enjoyed it so much. I’ve never read a book about angels and I’m so happy that I chose this one. I definitely have to give this book a 5/5. Susan Ee is an amazing story teller.
